ragu bolognese
lately i have been crazy craving some meat sauce + pasta. i tried to look up the difference between ragu and bolognese....and found this ragu bolognese recipe (which i slightly altered). haha i still don't really know the difference, but my craving has been sufficiently satisfied.
ingredients:
olive oil
3 T butter
2 carrots (finely diced)
3 stalks of celery (finely diced)
1 onion (diced)
5 cloves of garlic (sliced)
1 lb ground veal
1 lb ground pork
1 lb ground sausage
1 cup milk
1 cup dry white wine
2 cans tomato paste (small cans)
salt + pepper (+ dash of oregano)
grated parm on top
directions:
1. heat up oil + butter and then add in the carrots, celery, onion and garlic over med heat for about 12 min.
2. add in the meat over high heat and stir until browned.
3. add the tomato paste, milk and wine and simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
4. season with salt, pepper and oregano.
