the middle-schoolers are making strawberry shortcake for the moms at church this sunday - so i tried out this scone recipe this afternoon to see if it would work for shortcake (and i loved the scones at alice's teacup!). they seem a little bland - probably because you need to eat it with strawberries + cream, but they are pretty moist out of the oven. we'll see how they are a day later.....

you didn't mention that they were heart shaped... how cute! (let's go back for scones next time we're in new york! it's the kind of tea place where i think even the guys could get full :))
