pulled pork magic

the first time i made pulled pork (ever) was a month ago. if only i had known how easy it was, i would've been making it way long ago. i was inspired by this recipe from the pioneer woman - mainly because there is no searing/cooking required before putting it in the oven. you just dump it all in the pot, stick it in the oven for 6-7 hours and you get some pulled pork?! cool.

ingredients:
- pork shoulder (4-5 lbs)
- salt + pepper
- random spices (chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika...)
- adobo marinade (the pioneer woman recipe called for peppers in adobo sauce but i didn't want it to be too spicy so....i just bought some adobo marinade. not really sure if this actually adds anything to the flavor but i guess it doesn't hurt?)
- 2 medium onions chopped in big pieces
- 2 or 3 cans of soda (today i used root beer, and i added in some beer too)

directions:
1. layer the onions over the bottom of your dutch oven
2. rub spices all over the pork and lay it on top of the onions
3. pour the marinade + soda into the pot
4. bake at 300F for 6-7 hours (flipping it every couple hours)
5. pull it apart when it's all fork-tender!

not sure how this one is going to turn out - i hope it's good!
