we made a quick stop at the santa cruz boardwalk yesterday - on our little coastline adventure down to pebble beach + big sur. everything is so bright + colorful (with a small amusement park!) which reminded me a bit of coney island....minus the eery deserted feeling. we looked around for some rumored "fried coke" but didn't find any. too bad the cute little gondola wasn't open.
