moving in

i'm finally all moved in and partly settled which means bye-bye vacation mode! this morning i made some coffee in my new french press and ate a bowl of yogurt + granola while reading the latest issue of vogue. it was the very first time i've ever read a magazine cover to cover - every single article - bookmarking pages with sticky notes for future reference and studying every ad. it's definitely a different way of reading magazines than i'm used to. =)

these past few days have mostly been full of trips to bed bath & beyond, duane reade, and target. it's sad that i could only pack so much to bring with me, and a little ironic that i had to go out to hunt for a mug/plate/bowl when i have boxes of them collected at home. i'm trying to buy only what i need, but there sure are a lot of little things required when moving into a new place. my room feels surprisingly spacious, despite the fact that i have to share with 2 other people. i did try to take some photos, but yea.....now i understand why all the pictures on craigslist or streeteasy are so awful. there is so little natural light that comes in even during the daytime that it's impossible to take a good photo. haha but i'll try again tomorrow. other than that i'm really grateful that it's close to the subway and duane reade and chipotle!!

classes start on monday so i have a couple more days to relax and enjoy this time before the semester starts. now it's time for bed - good night!
