all cut up...

so we don't really "design" much in any of my classes yet - honestly i was a little surprised that in all my classes we just copy what we see in magazines (poses, shapes, body parts...) and even in my CAD class we just take images that we like and change them up a bit. but my teacher mentioned the other day that if we were to be drawing without references, we wouldn't be learning anything....which i guess is true. so we've been practicing tons of arms and legs and feet.....and HANDS ARE SO HARD. this week we are practicing faces and that seriously gives me some high blood pressure. i get really frustrated when i draw a face because i want it to be pretty - but usually it ends up being really....ugly. haha. it takes me like 30 minutes to draw a pair of hands - just to make it not look like it belongs to a scary witch. we're supposed to learn how to color next week! maybe i'll get to show you some drawings that are a bit more fun soon enough.
