ppsalt thanksgiving




on saturday we had a postpsalt pre-thanksgiving dinner. i was responsible for pie crust, so i tried out 3 different recipes (all butter, all shortening, butter/shortening) and i think the butter+shortening crust turned out the best. we also made some pop-tarts with all the leftover dough (filled with pumpkin pie filling) and they were delicious!

i was too full by the dessert course to try any of the pumpkin "pop tarts" :( i did manage to get down a bite of the best chocolate chip cookie though!

the pop tarts were actually really good right out of the oven - i didn't get to taste that one that we brought to the dinner though!
