this past weekend i went down to LA to visit my brother (this post is a little late) and attend his opening day ceremony for city year! i kind of knew what city year was all about since cathy did it after college - but it was really inspiring to see the city of LA (the mayor, superintendent, and all these sponsors were there) truly supporting the city year members and believing in them to make a difference in their public schools and serve their community. it's a good reminder to me that whatever job or career i have, i should always be serving others in some way.
