a wonderful weekend!

wow - time does go by really quickly here in this city. peter surprised me with a visit + proposal on friday morning, and now we're engaged! =) i still can't quite believe it, and we're going to enjoy it for a bit before the actual "planning" of the wedding begins. i absolutely love my ring (from erstwhile jewerly) but it was a bit small, so we brought it to the jeweler on friday to have it sized. at first the man said it wouldn't be ready until after the weekend, but i think he felt sorry for me to have to wait so long to wear it so he somehow managed to finish it within an hour right before he closed!

on friday, i also volunteered at milk made fashion week - nothing too glamorous....a lot of directing traffic within the shows and setting up/tearing down. the best part was that we all got a free pair of true religion jeans (that miraculously seem to fit every volunteer) and a free t-shirt (with a huge illustration of yves saint laurent's face on it).

peter bought us tickets to watch the knicks vs. lakers game on friday night - madison square garden was nuts! (the "lin-mania" is crazy) there was even a contest on the jumbo-tron to tweet your best "jeremy lin" pun to delta to win some free tickets, but they never announced a winner - so i'm going to email delta to see what's up with that. peter is so obsessed with jeremy lin that he even created a twitter account just so he could follow him.....

for the rest of the weekend, we spent some time at the met (i wanted to see the islamic art galleries) and walked through central park (unsuccessfully looking for dog parks in the bitter cold) and ate some ramen, super cheap dumplings in chinatown (10 for $2!), and had brunch at abc kitchen. now i'm screwed because i waited all weekend to do my hw and i have so much due tomorrow!!! gonna go do some drawing now.
