a sandwich for lunch

for lunch today i had a sandwich...an ice cream sandwich! one of the perks of working in the lower east side is that i get a chance to explore a neighborhood (on my lunch breaks) that i would normally not be so familiar with. so everyday i walk up and down a different block - and it seems like everyday a new shop or restaurant opens up.

today i happened to pass by melt bakery and picked up this snickerdoodle + cinnamon ice cream sandwich. the cookie was so perfectly soft and the ice cream was perfectly firm. and the entire thing stayed frozen and intact the entire time i ate it outside in the 90 degree weather. so much better than the coolhaus ice cream sandwich peter and i tried last week (which basically melted into my hand after my very first bite into a rock hard cookie). if you're ever near orchard street - go check 'em out!
